Question:  In the draft Micro-Fit contract it states the applicant must have the same name as on the LDC account. Is this the only requirement for proof of ownership or access?
If not under what circumstances could an applicant be someone other than the owner of said property?
Answer:  This is required because the OPA must maintain a direct billing relationship with the contract holder, via the LDC. The LDCs will make payments to the contract holder on behalf of the OPA.

If you are developing a project on a property you do not own, you would be required to set up your own LDC customer account for the project. This would be similar to setting up a new account for a tenant that is separate from the main property.

In fact, based on the OEB's proposed code amendments, all microFIT projects will be required to have their own LDC account, that is separate from any other account.
