Question:  Regarding CIAs that were submitted prior to March 13, 2009 - will they maintain their position in the queue after the Initialization Period? One of the intents of the Initialization Period has been stated to allow proponents to gather the necessary requirements. However, the new requirement of 6 months of meteorological data for wind projects cannot be gathered before the Initialization Period ends.
Answer:  Only projects that applied for a CIA prior to February 23, 2009 will be considered as Legacy Projects. The requirements for resource data are currently under review to find a reasonable solution to allow Legacy Projects to apply for the FIT Program during the Initialization period. Projects that applied for a CIA after February 23, 2009 will not maintain their queue position if they apply to the FIT Program
