| Question: |
Will power generated by a solar system but used by the generator be subject to LDC delivery charges? Will excess power put back to the grid be subject to any further charges? My apologies if these have been answered earlier. |
| Answer: |
Based on the proposed amendments to the OEB's distribution system code and retail settlement code, the "generator" will be treated as a separate account from the "load customer".
The generator will be paid for all electricity that is produced - regardless of whether the production is consumed by the load customer. There is no charge for sending the power to the grid. However, you should note that there will be ongoing account fees for your `generator account'. The load customer will pay for all electricity that it uses - regardless of whether the electricity comes from the solar installation or the distribution grid. The charges will include all OEB approved delivery charges. |
