Question:  In regards to the draft rules for the microFIT program, Section 2 - Project Eligibility Requirements

2.1 e) What would be the test to determine when a microFIT project would require a renewable energy approval from the MOE?

Answer:  The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Natural Resources are establishing the rules for Renewable Energy Approvals. These rules are in draft form and can be found:

Based on the above, solar PV 10 kW or less do not require an REA. Wind power greater than 3 kW will require an REA.
