Question:  I am trying to determine the specific rules for "Behind the Meter" installations, specifically for connection (I believe that behind the meter is exempt) and compensation (I believe that the DG owner might not be compensated the full FIT amount). If those assumptions are correct - or not, can clarification be provided?

Also, do the Green/Yellow/Orange Zones carry over the FIT at all and, if so, do they apply to "Behind the Meter" installations?

Answer:  The zones no longer apply under FIT. In addition, `capacity allocation exempt projects' (formerly queue exempt) will proceed directly to contract.

The OEB has proposed revisions for settlement of FIT contracts such that all FIT generators, whether they are behind the meter or in front, would receive payments `as if' they were directly connected. This means that all generators will be paid for the total amount of power produced and the consumer would be billed for everything consumed - not for `net consumption.' For questions on metering and connection, please contact you LDC.
