Question:  On land that is already zoned for electrical generation, will a REA still be required for a ground mount solar installation?
Answer:  Zoning requirements are not related to environmental assessment required. The Ministry of Environment is currently developing the REA rules for ground-mounted solar projects, including provisions for electricity projects that were already under development prior to the introduction of the Green Energy Act.
