Dear Sir, Madam,
As an Solar PV system Integrator we are very, very concerned about delays relating to the ordering process of the meter. Although we know it is Utility companies responsibility for the ordering process of the meters for Microfit, could the OPA enforce or intent to set a max. date for the contract to be commissioned (switch turn on) e.g. max. 1 months after application issue date, to prevent any delays caused by the ordering process of the meter? What happens if the system is unable to connected due to the delays caused by Utility companies? It must be possible for LDC's to use one central order desk for the ordering of meters that should be used for the MicroFit program to ensure that there are enough meters in stock and LDC's know where and which meter to order! We have projects that are still waiting for a meter, more than a year after the project was installed. |

Thank you for your comments.
We welcome feedback on this issue. Please provide feedback through the online `make a submission tool'. At this time, the OPA believes that 12-months would be a sufficient period of time to allow for the installation of a project and its connection to the grid. |
