| Question: | Is there anything that would prevent or estop an LDC in Ontario from entering into a FIT contract directly? Conceivably, could an LDC act in it's own direct capacity and pursue roof top and land based projects and obtain FIT contracts for their own economic benefit and profit? Or, is it the case where the LDC's are acting as Province's entity to facilitate the roll-out, monitoring, metering and feed-back mechanism for the FIT program? |
| Answer: | LDCs under the Green Energy Act can become generators, and hence, enter into a FIT contract directly. It will be up to the Ontario Energy Board to oversee LDCs and relationships with their customers, and ensure that LDCs and private developers are participating in FIT in a fair and consistent manner. |
