Your project will be placed in the FIT reserve if the economic connection test determines that the costs of the grid upgrades required to connect your project are not reasonable at that time.
Over time, conditions may change so that the costs to connect your project become reasonable. For this reason, projects in the reserve will be included in each subsequent economic connection test to re-assess whether the upgrade costs become reasonable. Other FIT projects, changing system characteristics and a wide range of other reasons make each economic connection test unique.
Once your project is placed in the FIT reserve, it will retain its application time-stamp and will wait until:

You may withdraw your application from the FIT reserve at any time by giving written notice to the OPA. If you withdraw from the FIT reserve, the time-stamp for your application will be forfeited and the full amount of your application security will be returned to you.
If your application is in the FIT reserve or in a combination of the FIT production line and the FIT reserve for 10 years, the following may occur within 30 days after the 10-year anniversary of your application submission:
Should you or the OPA withdraw your application from the FIT reserve after 10 years, the time-stamp of your application will be forfeited and the full amount of your application security will be returned to you.
